Initial-D 3rd Stage: The
Movie
( Takumi and his legendary Toyota Trueno )
Takumi Fujiwara is the son of the owner of a local tofu shop. At night, Fujiwara
gets in his AE86, a.k.a Toyota Trueno and races on the seldom-used Japanese
mountain roads. One night, the Akagi Red Suns team, a racing club, challenges
the Akina Speed Stars whom Takumi drives for, to a race on the mountain where he
lives. Keisuke,
one of the leaders of the Red Suns, races his legendary Mazda Rx-7, only to be beaten
by the mysterious Takumi and his souped up Trueno.

( Racing the Redsuns )
Initial D: 3rd Stage is the conclusion to the extremely popular, if
underappreciated series about Takumi Fujiwara (there are many other stages to
Initial-D ex. 1st stage, 2nd stage, X-tra stage...ect)
In essence Takumi is a reluctant
street racer who has
become a local legend with his godlike instinctive driving skills. He does not
seem to understand the hype about his skills, but at this point
in the series has become an incredible racer. He has
crushed every opponent he's faced, and through his racing he still continues to learn new techniques.
In the movie, Takumi faces some harsh
realities, and struggles with some his kept-in secrets. This
is around the 3rd part to the saga of Initial-D, with some little
spinoff's here and there.
Overall the music, graphics and art are great.
The characters are fun to follow and have their own personalities and
situations too, which kept me watching more and more after exciting racing
scenes were done. But this isn't the typical anime series filled of
characters with, descriptions, catastrophes and tragedies,
but it does have character development and a plot outside of "just racing".
I especially like the way you are made
to "need more" because you get caught up in the current situation
and it
teases you into the next episode.

I would recommend Initial-D
to any street racing fan, mostly people intrested in the import
scene. It's a well rounded movie with action, suspence, and
conversation, and does not leave anyone hanging in the end like
our well known Dragon Ball Z series (all you anime fans know
what I'm talking about). I'd say it's a must see.
