Neon Genesis Evangelion

     The prelude to the story of Evangelion is a complicated story. At the turn of the millennium the people of Earth are nearly completely wiped out by a supposed meteorite strike on Antarctica. Around half the population dies as a direct result of the strike, and the rest are left to struggle for survival with rising seas due to melting of the polar ice caps.

     The story starts out in 2015.  As the remnants of the human race cower in subterranean cities, a deadly war is being waged for what is left of the planet, and for what lies there within. 

On one side are the mysterious alien beings known only as the Angels, who are attacking cities and colonies.

On the other, the special agency NERV and mankind's last hope for survival; the Evangelions, or for short, EVA's. The EVA's are a type of robotic suit certain gifted children pilot to use to protect humanity from the "Angels".

Yet amongst the ongoing devastation, a few weary individuals at NERV struggle to uncover and piece together the agency's long buried secrets and hidden agendas along with the mysteries surrounding the arrival of the Angels

- Why was the Earth struck fifteen years ago?  A mere simple unfortunate act of nature, or perhaps an act of vengeance instigated by beings more powerful than man.

     Neon Genesis Evangelion is a unique, engageing, intelligent, and thoughtful series. The first episode I saw of Evangelion was a downloaded copy of episode 1. It was all gritty, and just bad quality...even so I watched it. I watched it and thought, "OMG, this is amazing!". Well I'll tell you, for the next week I was busy downloading all the Evangelion I could find. Within about a week I had watched the whole series, ( I think its 26 eps, and one movie....something like that ), and the movie. This is the type of anime, every anime probably wants to be like. Its so deep...following the thoughts a struggles of every character so in-depth. Many times taking a whole episode to explain one character's background. I was throughly convinced that Evangelion was the best anime series that I have seen. Its got the action, and fighting scenes I crave,and the psycological twists and turns that I love.

I give it a must see!
